You may know the basics of photography, but that is still a long way from taking beautiful pictures. There are always adjustments to be made, in terms of colors or lighting, which can be made in various photo editors. However, if you can't be bothered to learn how to use such a program, a great alternative would be Photolemur. This has got to be the simplest and easiest photo enhancement application. Just drop your photos and the software will do the rest for you.

Although Photolemur comes in a free version, you will have to pay for a license if you don't want a watermark on your images. The software is compatible with all popular Windows versions and you can have it up and running in no time. It doesn't ask for any special tools or services and it doesn't use a significant amount of resources.

As previously mentioned, importing one or more pictures, either through a browsing option or by dragging and dropping the files, is literally all you have to do. Based on the current pixel characteristics in the picture, the software will automatically recover colors, correct the lighting, sharpen the image, adjust tints and more.

All the aforementioned actions are executed in the back end. From a user perspective, the application will process a picture for a few seconds, after which it will look significantly better. The processed image is split down the middle, for a "before and after" view and you can drag the line left and right, to see the difference in the entire picture.

The only adjustment you can make yourself is how strong the visual boost should be. You can make your image look only slightly better or go for a full boost, by simply clicking and dragging a slider. Finally, you can export the enhanced picture, in JPG, PNG or TIFF format. Alternatively, you may choose to upload the image directly to Facebook or Twitter.

With Photolemur, you can turn your digital pictures into works of art, without doing any of the work yourself.

Pros

The software can enhance the quality of digital pictures significantly. All you have to do is import them. Images can be exported in three different formats or uploaded to the Internet.

Cons

The free version adds a watermark on the output images.
